Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine | Whitchurch, Cardiff

Balancing Health Through Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture is one of the most widely recognised therapies within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a healthcare system that has been practised for thousands of years. Traditional Chinese Medicine takes a holistic approach to health, considering the connection between physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing and overall balance within the body.
Using very fine needles placed at carefully selected points, acupuncture aims to support the body's natural healing processes and promote a sense of wellbeing. Treatments are tailored to the individual, taking into account your symptoms, health history, lifestyle and personal health goals.
Based at our Whitchurch clinic, our independent practitioner provides professional acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine consultations in a calm, welcoming environment.
What Is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a holistic system of healthcare that seeks to understand patterns of imbalance within the body. Rather than focusing solely on a specific symptom, TCM considers your overall health, lifestyle, sleep, stress levels, digestion and wellbeing when developing a treatment approach.
Acupuncture is often used alongside other TCM principles to support the body's natural ability to restore balance and maintain health.

Meet Our Practitioner
Martin Genovese
BSc (Hons), Lic Ac, MBAcC
Traditional Acupuncturist & practitioner of Chinese medicine
"Hello, it gives me great pleasure to meet you and to be able to help you with any health concerns you may have.
I graduated from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in 2010 and have been in practice since then. During this time I have met and helped 1000’s of amazing people. Most of whom generally come to me when they are in some form of pain, have serious illness, or just don’t feel healthy and themselves.
Being a Chinese Medicine Lecturer and clinical supervisor, you will find me experienced and knowledgeable of both Eastern and Western medicine. I am also a good listener, compassionate and supportive and at times direct when needed. I am very passionate about what I do, and my life work is to help as many people as possible suffering or not, experience the effects and benefits of Traditional Acupuncture.

In my experience I have found Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are effective methods for helping people with their health issues. I use two main methods of treatment; Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Elements (Constitutional) Acupuncture. Alongside this, I also employ additional tools such as Electro-Acupuncture, Tuina/Thai massage, cupping, moxibustion, Guasha (skin scraping) etc. These all support and enhance the treatments. However, most importantly, I work closely with all patients to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Offering lifestyle advice and coaching such as exercise, dietary support, motivation, problem solving or relationships, are often considered an essential part of the treatment and will help you to achieve the best results and in becoming your best self.
