'Back2Basics' - Movement & Rehabilitation Group Classes

Back2Basics are clinician-led mobility and strength classes in Cardiff, delivered by The Cardiff Chiropractors at our St Mellons Clinic, East Cardiff.

Back2Basics Class Set up

Our classes are designed especially for adults aged 50+, but are also suitable for anyone with reduced mobility, stiffness or recovering from injury. The programmes provide structured rehabilitation exercise in a safe, supportive small-group setting.

Our Back2Basics classes can help improve balance, build strength, and reduce flare-ups of back and joint pain. Allowing you to move with greater confidence in everyday life.

All class members are recommended to have a 1:1 consultation with our class lead prior to starting to ensure a safe transition in to our classes and to allow any bespoke considerations.

A Safe & Supportive Way to Exercise

Our 'Back2Basics' sessions are led by our chiropractor Patrick Walsh, who is also an experienced personal trainer and has been working as a provider for the National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS). He was inspired by the benefits he has seen brought to the community by this programme, but became aware of the long waiting lists restricting people.

Our approach focuses on:

 

• Gentle strength and mobility work

• Improving balance and coordination

• Building confidence with movement

• Supporting recovery from injury or flare-ups

 

Similar in principle to programmes such as the National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS), Back2Basics provides a structured and supportive environment to help people move more comfortably.

Our Back2Basics classes are ideal for people who:

A Structured Path to Better Movement

Back2Basics is delivered as a progressive rehabilitation programme, allowing you to build confidence and improve mobility over time.

Initial consultation - £45 (required if you're not currently receiving chiropractic care at our clinics)

During your consultation Patrick will review your medical history, and may perform an examination of any problem areas as is necessary to ensure a safe transition in to our classes. He will then recommend the most appropriate options based on your assessment and goals.

1st Class Session - Complementary 

To allow you to see if you feel comfortable in our classes. 

Start - 6 Sessions

£84 (£14 per session)

Ideal for those new to rehabilitation classes or wanting short-term guidance and confidence with movement.

Build - 12 Sessions

£144 (£12 per session)

Suitable for people managing ongoing stiffness, pain, or injury recovery who want steady and supported progress.

Thrive - 24 Sessions

£240 (£10 per session)

Best for long-term improvement in movement, strength, and mobility.
