Chiropractic Care for Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist & Hand Pain in Cardiff

At The Cardiff Chiropractors, we understand that shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand pain can make everyday activities uncomfortable. From lifting and reaching to typing, exercising, working, and sleeping.

Our chiropractors provide evidence-informed care aimed at helping improve movement, reduce discomfort, and support recovery through a combination of hands-on treatment, rehabilitation, and lifestyle advice tailored to the individual.

How Chiropractic Care May Help

Massage Therapy Session

Chiropractic Treatment & Joint Mobilisation

Our chiropractors use a range of hands-on techniques, including joint mobilisation and, where appropriate, chiropractic adjustments, to help improve movement and reduce stiffness through the neck, upper back, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hands.

Improving mobility and movement control may help reduce strain on irritated tissues and support more comfortable day-to-day function.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Muscle tension and tightness through the neck, shoulders, forearms, and upper back can contribute to discomfort and restricted movement.

We may use soft tissue techniques to help:

  • Reduce muscular tension

  • Improve flexibility

  • Encourage circulation

  • Support recovery alongside rehabilitation exercises

Sports Massage Therapy may also be recommended as part of your treatment plan where appropriate.

Shoulder Massage

Posture, Ergonomics & Movement Assessment

The way we sit, work, train, and move can influence stress placed on the shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hands.

During your assessment, we may evaluate:

  • Posture and desk setup

  • Shoulder and upper limb mobility

  • Strength and movement control

  • Work and sporting demands

  • Repetitive movement patterns

  • Exercise and training habits

This helps us tailor treatment and rehabilitation to your individual needs and goals.

Activity & Lifestyle Advice

Your chiropractor may also provide guidance around:

  • Exercise modification

  • Gym and sporting activities

  • Workplace ergonomics

  • Repetitive strain management

  • Recovery strategies

  • Returning to activity safely

The aim is to help support recovery while keeping you as active as possible.

At The Cardiff Chiropractors, we focus on understanding how your symptoms are affecting your movement, activity, work, and day-to-day life.

Treatment plans are tailored to the individual and may combine chiropractic care with rehabilitation, Shockwave Therapy, massage therapy, Clinical Pilates, and injury rehabilitation support where appropriate.

Other Therapies We May Suggest

Shockwave Therapy

For some persistent tendon-related conditions, such as Achilles tendon pain, plantar heel pain, or certain hip tendon problems, Shockwave Therapy may be recommended alongside rehabilitation.

Shockwave Therapy uses acoustic waves designed to stimulate healing responses within irritated tissues and may help support recovery in some long-standing conditions. It is particularly recommended and effective where other conservative treatments haven't worked such as chiropractic, physiotherapy, or steroid injections.

Rehabilitation Exercises

Exercise-based rehabilitation is often an important part of managing lower limb pain.

Your chiropractor may provide tailored exercises designed to help:

  • Improve strength and stability

  • Support balance and movement control

  • Improve flexibility and mobility

  • Gradually increase tolerance to activity and exercise

Where appropriate, rehabilitation may also be supported through our Clinical Pilates sessions or Back2Basics rehabilitation classes.

Upper Back Massage

  • Shoulder pain and stiffness

  • Wrist pain

  • Tendon-related pain

  • Sports and gym-related injuries
